Swiss Alps mountain range is located in the central area of European Alps and covers almost all the Switzerland. At the highest and most dense mountain range in Europe, spread over 192,753 square kilometers. Only 14% of its area is in Switzerland, but due to most of its iconic peaks here, the range is associated with this area. It is one of the three major geographic regions of Switzerland and covers 65% of its area.

  • Zermatt

The old-fashioned village is a beauty in itself. The tourism here started in the 1860s. The region is best for skiing as well as hiking. The skiing points in winter become the popular hiking spots in summer. Though it is a car-free region you still don’t have to walk all along. It has horse-drawn cabs and electric vehicles used for transportation.

Lugano has various tourist attractions so one can find one reason to travel or other sites of their interest. Where the town is filled with churches and cathedrals, it also has the beautiful Piazza della Riforma.   • St. Moritz

The spot is more of a summer destination but is equally popular in winter among the international tourists. Long ski trails of hundreds of miles and frozen lakes are the most popular sports points in town. You can sit on a cable car and visit any of the three nearby mountain tops.


The Swiss Alp has an extensive network of public transport easily available for everyone. Every mountain top is within 3 hours of travel from main cities and their respective airports.

Time from early November to late May is best for skiing and winter sports. The winter tourism spots are popular during summer as well.
